How to Travel Bhutan from INDIA?

Phuntsholing, Samdrup Jongkhar and Gelephu are the only land border open to world tourists to Bhutan. Phuntsholing is located at south-west around 170 km from the Indian national airport at Bagdogra. It takes around five hours drive to Phunsholing from nearest airport of India. Gelephu is another entry to Bhutan situated in south-central approximately 250 km from capital city of Bhutan. Samdrup Jongkhar situated in south east around 150 km away from Guwahati, the capital of Assam.

It takes around three hours drive from the capital of Assam to reach to Samdrup Jongkhar. Indian tourists can also take bus from Kolkata to Bhutan.  The bus journey from Kolkata takes around 18 hours to reach Phuntsholing. There is no direct train route to tour to Bhutan. However, you can take a train service from Hasimara situated in West Bengal which is 17 km away from Phuntsholing.
